Harnesses

Harnesses come in two types – waist and seat.  While the waist is generally considered the better for mobility and performance, there are a few limitations.

Body shape is an important factor – a narrow waist and broad back is much better suited to a waist harness.  A waist harness puts more strain on both the lower back and abdomen of the rider, and necessitates a more ‘correct’ riding posture.

Harnesses must fit well, so try on a few to ensure you get the best fit for you.  Look for features such as bar-down systems and spreader bar pads for improved comfort and performance.
